Interior design trends have always influenced how we decorate our homes; from the way, we choose to organize our furniture to the color palettes presented throughout our homes.

The last few years have taught us that our homes are reflections of who we are. They represent our contentment, ease, and tranquillity.

01 CURVED FURNITURE

As the new year progresses, many of us have begun to resist incorporating straight-lined furniture into our homes. Instead, we have become drawn to curvy furniture, such as curved couches and circular tables.

Our brains are drawn to circular figures and curved lines because they represent safety and tranquility.

According to the founder of Bartone Interiors, Kristin Bartone, “We are seeing lots of curves in furniture to provide an environment of comfort and calm. Nearly every manufacturer—from ultra-high-end to more budget-friendly vendors—is incorporating soft lines, arcs, and curves into their furniture.”

02 GLAZED TILES

Glazed geometric tiles are very popular right now. Bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, and floors are just a few places where you can find these tiles.

Rather than sticking to neutral-colored tiles, many homeowners have started to experiment with several different tiles.

Terracotta tiles have the most varied uses in design this year. Interior Design students at the Fashion Institute of Technology have observed homeowners using them for skylights, kitchen hallways, and dining areas.

03 PARISIAN-INSPIRED INTERIORS

Parisian-inspired interiors have been popular for several years and will continue to be popular. The French are the masters of minimalism and simple interiors.

Interior designer, Tiffany Piotrowski, explains that the classic Parisian space usually includes "white walls with picture frame molding, gilded golden mirrors in ornate styles, carved fireplaces, and marble flooring."

In the 18th century, the popularity of French design was heavily influenced by East Asian motifs: Inspiring the introduction of curved and sculptured interiors.

Colored dining tables are in high demand due to the increased popularity of open floor plans. Consumers have become increasingly interested in bringing vibrant elements into their homes.

According to Isabelle Dubern-Mallevays, having a colorful centerpiece makes it simple to accessorize dining rooms. She recommends contrasting bright tables with neutral-colored accessories.
